When my brain shuts down, the feta and tomatoes come out.
A popular blog recipe, this Honey Baked Feta and Tomato Pasta is just so easy to whip up.
Flavour makers are the shallot, garlic, harissa, thyme, and honey. I give alternatives for the cheese and even the tomatoes. Other flavour enhancer options are there as well. And as for the pasta, use your fave!

Çilbir or Turkish Eggs. This dish never fails to satisfy.
Instead of yogurt, this time, it's whipped feta with olives and herbs. Poached eggs. And my Chili Crisp Oil, which really should go on everything!
The feta makes a great dip with pita or crusty bread, or even cut up veg.

How to counteract a snow warning: Pot Roast.
Is there anything quite as comforting as a juicy, tender, fall apart pot roast?
We're supposed to get up to 30cm (12 inches) of snow when it is finished tomorrow. So we're going for groceries early. And pot roast is on the menu!
This recipe gives you the perfect pot roast, no knife needed as a fork will just sink right in.
The only remaining question for you guys: along with gravy, do you like it with mustard on the side, or horseradish?! I actually need all three!

For a quick, easy and hearty weekday dinner, it doesn't get better than this Pasta with Kale, Lentils, and Caramelized Onions.
It is so satisfying. Every time I make it Jim acts like it's the first time he's had it and says it's so good, make it again!
.
This is a great recipe to prep for: Remove the ribs from the lacinato kale, chop and store it in a sealed container in the fridge overnight.
Cook the lentils in stock, combine them with the caramelized onions in advance, and store in the fridge.
Then all you'll need to do is grate the cheese, reheat the onions and lentils over low in a large skillet, cook the pasta, adding the kale to the pasta to warm through, and then toss it all together, using reserved pasta water to bring it all together.

Marmalade Ricotta Crostata. A slice for breakfast or brunch is a good thing, and highly recommended!
The beautiful, tender pastry recipe for this crostata was shared with me by the owner of a beautiful thousand year old Vinyard and village in Tuscany.
I've made it with the Seville Orange Marmalade from my book. Feel free to use your favourite jam or preserves. The ricotta layer underneath takes it somewhere special.
And yes, even using gf cup for cup flour blends work great, the pastry is so easy to work with.
